As we all know to get across a border some times you need a visa. Rock up at the embassy, give them some cash, come back tomorrow with and pick up the passport with another stamp in it

 EASY

Note: Letter of intent  (LOI) is bribe you pay to some organisation to invite you to come and spend money in there country

Hi Brent,

Seems you better not give this advice to any others unless they enjoy 2 days of airline food and a semi padded bench for a bed before being deported back to where they came from. You can only get a visa if you have been there before and  on the database. Anyway, the nightmare is over for the moment, and thanks for all your assistance to date.

Have been to the uzbek embassy this morn and it seems there's no chance of getting  a visa there with our Almaty LOI.You have to ring the embassy just to get an appointment so they can tell you that they can’t do anything.  We will go to Uzbekistan some other year when we have our papers in order

Have looked into flights here to Tashkent and we can get a flight on the 18th which connects with the Tashkent -Riga flight early on the 19th. I have looked up the air-baltic site and it shows that seats are available on 19th -
https://tickets.airbaltic.com/app/fb.fly?p=BTI&pos=LV&l=en so would you be able to speak with your contacts and send us some written confirmation that we are able to change the booking to the 19th. Once we have this we can then book our flight to Tashkent from here and be transit passengers!

Obviously if this could be done today that would be great.

Cheers,

Michael (and Russell)

As we cant change Tashkent flight we will make our own way to Europe from Biskek and pick up flight in Riga

Cheers  Michael

Note The President of Kirghizstan was bemoaning the fact that due to the global mining downturn GDP was dropping and  they were going to have to find some other way to attract foreign income. Funnily enough where now spending our money in France
